The owner of a Northwell urgent service says police arrested him and his son on Tuesday after they were found with stolen phones, including a Samsung Galaxy Note 7.

Northwell Police said the arrest happened on Tuesday afternoon.

The officer allegedly grabbed the phone from the driver’s side of the car, according to the department’s arrest report.

It was reported that the driver then used the phone to call his wife, who called police.

Police said the suspect then drove away with the phone, which was later found in the trunk of a vehicle.

A man who was with the couple was arrested.

Officers were called about 3:30 p.m.

Tuesday, and officers arrested the man on charges of felony theft and resisting arrest.

At least one other suspect was detained in the area and later released without charges, police said.
