The country will start a new fleet on February 5, bringing the total number of new vehicles in operation to more than 4,300.

The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has said it will also launch an initiative to sell hybrid cars, electric and hybrid buses.

It will also make it easier to register and operate vehicles with hybrid engines, a key feature in the country’s rapidly expanding passenger transport sector.

According to the MNRE, the total fleet will include approximately 1,300 electric buses and 3,200 hybrid buses, which it expects to sell between 2021 and 2025.
